I’m a proud father of 3 great kids, and have had the pleasure of being married to my awesome, wicked smart, smokin’ hot wife for 13.5 of the 33 years I’ve been traversing the pale blue dot we call Earth. I reside in the great State of Michigan — also known as “America’s high five.”
For a combination of theological, philosophical, and scientific reasons – I do not believe in the existence of gods. Some people find this troubling, though they shouldn’t being they disbelieve in 99.9999% of the same gods I don’t believe in. I just happen to disbelieve in one more god than they do.
As a former pastor, I’m a participant in the Clergy Project, which serves the purpose of providing a safe haven for active and former clergy who no longer hold supernatural beliefs. The project also aims to assist active, non-believing clergy as they transition out of the ministry.
If nothing else, it is my hope that even though you may find yourself as someone who disagrees with me, at a minimum you can see that a belief in gods is not necessary to hope, to care, to love, or to live life to its fullest. And if there’s one thing we can agree on, it’s that we should hold tightly to the ones we love, as we make the most of this one life that we’re sure we have.
All the Best to You and Yours,
Eric

Hooray! Cue the mob of happy atheists!
Eh … probably never going to happen.
Cue the stadium of atheists scratching their chins and each individually saying something to the effect of, “I’m ok with that.”
